Work break day 3
A drizzly Monday, "atmospheric river"
I’m writing an update for day 3 in retrospect due to not getting to it yesterday. Rain interfered with my intentions of getting coffee and walking about like a retiree, but I managed to pop out while there was a break to run a few errands. I wanted to get some paper towels to clean up a mess, and nab some ingredients for DIY cold porcelain clay as well. While I was out, I also visited a nearby Chinese bakery to place a pick-up order since Rona requested Chinese fresh fruit / cream cake for a small pre-birthday celebration this Saturday.
All in all, a fair morning, but I tend to putter out after expending some amount of will to do chores. I told myself I would play Pokemon Shield for a half hour, maybe an hour to recharge, but I’m learning I don’t have the discipline to reliably stop after a reasonable pre-determined time period. There’s always a little extra easy gratification to squeeze out, which is a deadly temptation for me. Eventually I hid the switch away behind some other items beneath the bed and told myself I wouldn’t touch it for the rest of the week, which is something I’m generally able to do once I commit to it.
Why are Eevees so hard to catch in Pokemon Shield? Eventually I figured out that a Nest Ball might work. Picture source: imore
After an afternoon of pokemon, I went to my weekly ice skating lesson, the last in the series. To my surprise and delight, I passed the Gamma level exam after taking the class around three times. We went to dinner afterwards with our ice skating friend.
